You held it together when it counted

Now you are home, or between deployments, or out entirely, and something has not switched off. Sleep is short and thin. Your temper arrives faster than it used to. The people closest to you say you are somewhere else even when you are in the room. You have gotten very good at managing it, and managing it is exhausting.

How I work

I use Accelerated Resolution Therapy, a brief trauma treatment related to EMDR, for distressing memories that keep resurfacing — without requiring you to narrate the event in detail, session after session. For depression, anger, and stress I use cognitive-behavioral and acceptance-and-commitment approaches. You will not be asked to relive anything you are not ready to relive.
